Who We Are

Caleb’s Creations is a custom painting and staining business working across Simcoe County and the Georgian Bay region. The work is residential: interiors, exteriors, decks, fences, trim, doors and ceilings. Every project is assessed in person before a number is quoted, because the condition of what is already on a surface determines nearly all of the labour involved.

That approach comes from a simple observation about this trade. Two houses of identical size can differ enormously in what they actually need.

One has sound drywall and a straightforward colour change. The other has trim carrying decades of oil enamel, hairline cracking through every seam, and a ceiling with water staining that will bleed through anything applied over it. Quoting those two jobs the same way guarantees that one of them goes badly.

How We Work

Preparation is where a paint job is won or lost, and it is the part most likely to be quietly skipped.

Repairs and bare drywall are spot primed so patches do not flash through as dull or shiny areas. Trim suspected of carrying old oil-based enamel is tested and given a bonding primer, because modern water-based coatings will not grip cured alkyd and will peel off in strips within the year.

Water stains on ceilings get a stain blocking primer rather than another coat of ceiling paint.

On exterior and staining work, the same discipline applies to timing. Coatings have temperature ranges and drying requirements, and overnight lows matter as much as afternoon highs in this climate.

Deck staining follows a clean, brighten, dry, then coat sequence that cannot be compressed into a single day without producing blotchy colour and early failure. We would rather tell a homeowner that the window has closed for the season than apply a finish that will not hold.

Every project starts with a walkthrough and a written scope, so what is included is unambiguous before anything begins. That covers which surfaces are in scope, what preparation is involved, what gets primed, and how many finish coats are specified.

Those four items are exactly where cheap quotes hide their savings, and putting them in writing is how a homeowner can compare quotes honestly.

The Region We Serve

This region puts specific demands on coatings. Winters bring sustained snow load on horizontal surfaces and repeated freeze and thaw cycling that splits wood and lifts finishes.

Summers bring humidity that extends recoat times, and intense reflected light off Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe that accelerates ultraviolet breakdown on lake-facing elevations.

Housing stock ranges from new subdivisions finished with a single thin coat of builder flat paint to century properties with plaster walls and original millwork, and each needs a different system.
