A Painting Contractor Built Around Preparation

Caleb’s Creations is owner-operated, which means the person who walks your property and writes the quote is the person doing the work. There is no handoff between a salesperson and a crew that never saw the original assessment, and no dispute later about what was agreed.

Every project starts with a walkthrough and a written scope. Four items go in writing every time:

  • Which surfaces are included, stated individually rather than as a room count
  • What preparation is involved, from washing and scraping through to sanding and caulking
  • What gets primed, and which primer the substrate requires
  • How many finish coats are specified

Those four items are exactly where a cheap quote hides its savings, and putting them in writing is the only way a homeowner can compare quotes honestly.

We work across Simcoe County and the Georgian Bay region, from Barrie through Collingwood and Orillia.

Our Painting and Staining Services

Nine services across two disciplines. Painting covers interiors, exteriors, trim, doors, ceilings and fences. Staining covers decks and fences where the goal is to protect the wood while letting the grain show through.

How It Works

1

Walkthrough and written quote

We measure each room, inspect wall and trim condition, identify repairs that need to happen before painting, and confirm colours and sheens. You receive a written scope so you know exactly what is included.

2

Protection, repair and priming

Furniture is moved or covered, floors are protected, and edges are masked. We fill nail holes, cracks and dents, sand them flush, then spot prime every repair and any stain or bare drywall so the topcoat lays down evenly.

3

Finish coats and inspection

Ceilings first, then walls, then trim and doors, applying full coats with consistent technique. We walk the space with you under working light, mark anything that needs correction, address it, and leave the rooms clean.

Painting Advice for Simcoe County Homeowners

Frequently Asked Questions

We work throughout Simcoe County and the Georgian Bay region from our base in Barrie, covering Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Springwater, Oro-Medonte, Clearview, Innisfil, Midland and Orillia, plus the rural townships between them.

Yes. Every project is quoted in writing, stating which surfaces are included, what preparation is covered, which surfaces are primed, how many finish coats are specified and which products are used. This prevents the mismatched expectations that cause most disputes in this trade.

Pricing is based on surface area, existing condition, substrate type, access difficulty and product grade rather than floor square footage alone. Two homes of identical size can differ substantially in cost because preparation requirements differ, which is why we assess in person.

Paint forms a film on the surface and can peel when water gets behind it. Stain penetrates into the wood and wears by thinning instead. On horizontal surfaces that hold snow and water, a penetrating stain performs far better in this climate.

Book exterior painting, deck staining and fence work in March or April for a summer start, since the reliable exterior window runs from late May through early October and fills early. Interior projects are best scheduled from November through March.

Interior work continues year round and winter is the ideal time for it, with more scheduling flexibility and shorter lead times. Exterior coating cannot be applied in winter because temperatures fall below the range coatings require to cure properly.

Yes. Projects range from a single front door or one bedroom through to full house interiors, complete exterior repaints and rural fence runs of several hundred linear feet. Each is scoped and quoted on its own requirements.

A properly prepared interior repaint holds many years in normal use. Exterior coatings generally last eight to twelve years on wood, shorter on lake facing and full sun elevations. Decks in this region typically need refinishing every two to four years.
